BAHÁ’Í WORLD FAITH

BAHÁ’Í is a religion that was founded in 1844, in Iran but is now headquartered out of Israel. They use three sacred texts: the “Most Holy Book,” the “Book of Certitude,” and the Bible (though it is interpreted “spiritually” so that it conforms to their theology. The BAHÁ’Í believe that God is unknowable but has revealed himself in nine different manifestations, including Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, Krishna, Zoroaster, and Bahá’u’lláh. Each manifestation disclosed more information about God and revealed a truer sense of who he is. Therefore, each new manifestation is superior to the previous in their teaching and the most recent is to be adhered to over the previous. The most recent and greatest is Bahá’u’lláh, which means the “Glory of Allah.” According to them, Jesus is not God and did not rise from the dead but was simply a representation of Bahá’u’lláh. The Holy Spirit is not God either but a form of energy that reveals truth. One can be saved by having faith in the manifestation of Bahá’u’lláh, living by his teachings, and by the good works done. Regardless, heaven and hell are conditions of the soul not places.

Additionally, the Bahá'í website describes the central theme of their message is that “humanity is one single race” and it is time for that race to be unified across the globe in “one global society.” Bahá'u'lláh has “set in motion historical forces that are breaking down traditional barriers of race, class, creed, and nation that will . . . give birth to a universal civilization.” As far as sin goes, the Bahá'í Faith teaches that the “physical desires of humans are neither “evil” or “bad” but that everything created is good. http://info.bahai.org
